Yo! has teamed up with Movember to raise awareness of mental health among men, following a startling report by Nestle Professional which claimed eight in ten chefs have experienced poor mental health during their careers. Yo! will host a panel discussion with Movember and Countertalk, an organisation which helps connect industry bodies, which will encourage people to be more open about mental health. The panel will include Yo! HR director Alyson Hancock, Sarah Coghlan, global health promotion director at Movember and Merly Kammerling, from Me, Myself and Mind.

When Yo! Sushi arrived in the UK in 1997 it was everything casual dining wants to be in 2019. Colourful, fun, innovative and fresh, it also had entertainment on the side thanks to the novel kaiten conveyor belt that served up plates of food. Remarkably, the novelty hasn’t worn off, even after 22 years. Yo!, which dropped the ‘Sushi’ from its name in September to send a message to the squeamish that it offered more than just raw fish, reported a UK sales hike of 5% to £88.9m in July.

NewsSushi sales up at Yo!
Yo! Has reported a 69.6% group sales hike to £152.5m for the year ending 27 November 2018. It said the figure reflected Yo!’s “strategic pivot” with the acquisitions of Bento and Taiko, while the business had been “further diversified” by its merger with SnowFox, the second largest sushi kiosk company in the US.
