Granier, the Spanish bakery and cafe group, his announced its sixth London store, in the Stratford Centre, with three more lined up for the New Year, MCA has learnt.

The brand, which has more than 400 sites in Spain, Italy, Portugal and the US, has sites in Notting Hill, Bayswater, Putney, Woolwich and Kingston-upon-Thames

It will serve artisan breads, pastries, sandwiches, salads, coffee and fresh juice.

David Parera, Granier’s international expansion director, said: “Our opening in Stratford is the latest step as we continue to invest in the UK market as a key growth area for Granier Bakery & Café with three more launches expected soon.

“We are convinced that Granier can exploit the gap in the market created by the growing trend of artisan bakery produce. By offering a large range of high quality products - with over 60 different varieties of bread - at an accessible price, and combining this with a welcoming café environment, Granier Bakery & Café offers something completely unique within the sector.

“We are continuing to pursue the expansion plan which has been successful in Spain, Italy, Portugal and the USA, with over 400 Granier stores worldwide, alongside sticking to our roots as a family owned business with the customer at the heart of everything we do.”
