Neighbours of restaurateur Richard Caring, one of Britain's richest businessmen, have signed a petition objecting to his pheasant shoots in the tiny Exmoor hamlet of Bury.
They say luxury four-wheel-drive vehicles have churned up footpaths and local bridleways while dead birds dropping from the sky have damaged the roofs of some homes.
Now Mr Caring, who owns a string of London restaurants including The Ivy as well as exclusive Annabel's private club, says he is scrapping commercial shoots in the area.
