KFC UK & Ireland’s managing director Paula MacKenzie will take part in an exclusive Q&A at MCA’s Restaurant Conference 2021.

Taking place at the London Marriott Hotel, Grosvenor Square on Wednesday 3 November, the annual sell-out conference returns for its first live event since 2019, and will see sector leaders coming together network, share vision and strategy, and digest the current dynamics of the sector through a day of keynote speeches, insight presentation, panel discussions and Q&As.

MacKenzie has led the iconic fried chicken brand in the UK and Ireland for the past five years, steering it through two crises resulting in mass closures of restaurants. In this Q&A, she will discuss how the muscle memory of KFC’s chicken shortage in 2018 helped it better cope with the pandemic (and come back stronger); and how a distinctive approach to marketing has helped transform the brand’s cultural relevance and sales.

Also revealed as part of the line-up is Karl Chessell, director for hospitality operators and food, EMEA at CGA. Sharing insights from its data pool on restaurant market performance and business confidence, Chessell will explore consumer trends such as omnichannel sales, localisation and technology.

The pair will join the likes of Five Guy’s chief executive John Eckbert and chief executive of Corbin & King Jeremy King at the not-to-be-missed event.
