Pret A Manger has integrated its coffee subscription service with its expanding click and collect offering, which launched in a further eight shops today (2 June).

Subscribers will be able to order all five of their drinks for collection, at any Pret site offering click and collect, throughout the day, at a time that suits them.

The additional shops to offer click and collect are all in Manchester and follow a surge in sign-ups for its subscription service in the city and the successful trial of click and collect in Pret’s shop in Media City.

Dan Burdett, who was appointed chief customer and growth officer at Pret A Manger at the beginning of this year, said: “It’s been amazing to join Pret at such a time of transformation, as we work to evolve the ways customers can enjoy our freshly made food and organic coffee, making it easier for them to shop with us on their terms.”

He told MCA: “Click & collect is well-established in retail because it makes people’s lives easier. In contrast, our market-leading coffee subscription was created to offer fans of our hot, iced and blended Barista-made drinks something different, but we’re excited to be rethinking and reshaping how people get their food and drink while on the go. Bringing the two together will make sure that customers are getting the best of both worlds.”

Pret launched click and collect last year, initially in five London locations, and has been growing it steadily, with the service now available from 44 shops, as of today.

The business has been diversifying into an increasing number of new channels during the pandemic and last month announced plans to open shops on the forecourts of the UK’s largest petrol retailer, Motor Fuel Group, and to open concessions within Tesco stores.
