Pret A Manger has signed up two new UK franchise partners as it continues with its plan to double the size of the business over the next five years.

Dallas Holdings and K&Z Group are to join Pret’s growing base of franchisees.

Eight shops will be transferred to the new partners in spring 2022. Its Guildford, Bournemouth, Basingstoke and Woking shops will be transferred to K&Z Holdings, and Pret’s four shops in Oxford will be transferred to Dallas Holdings.

Pret CEO Pano Christou said that some of its shops were busier than they have ever been.

“To meet that demand, we’re establishing new partnerships with franchisees to bring Pret to more people. Our agreements with Dallas Holdings and K&Z Group are a vital part of that ambition and will help kickstart our growth in different parts of the country,” he said.

The announcement follows an agreement in August with Pret’s latest regional franchisee partner, The Chesterford Group.

As the company expands, Pret A Manger will be rolling out a recruitment programme aimed at hiring at least 3,000 team members and baristas by the end of 2023.

Earlier this week Pret announced it is to expand in the Middle East with a new franchising agreement with One PM Franchising. It followed an agreement in October with A&W Food Services of Canada to introduce the Pret brand and products to A&W restaurants in Canada.
