TGI Fridays UK has appointed the restaurant booking site Bookatable, which it said will let customers make reservations just two hours in advance compared to 24 hours previously.

Karen Forrester, TGI Fridays UK chief executive, said: “We’re really pleased to be working with a brand as well established in its field as Bookatable. Technology’s a big priority for us as a business, and this is one of the logical next steps to improve the overall booking experience for guests. We’re really excited to see how much this will streamline reservations for diners and team members alike.”

Joe Steele, chief executive of Bookatable, said: “From high-street favourites to the finest Michelin-starred establishments, restaurants are increasingly aware of the advantages of having a comprehensive booking service and table management technology in place.

“We are delighted to now be working with TGI Friday’s to provide them with a solution to help fill their restaurants with diners at the right times and manage those reservations to deliver the best possible service to their customers.”
