Sparkling wine and Prosecco supplier Frizzenti has entered an agreement with St Austell Brewery to serve its products in Falmouth pub as the start of a deal that will see it sold across the St Austell estate.

St Austell’s wine buyer Louisa Fitzpatrick hopes to open up a new premium market by offering sparkling wines by the glass to pubs that can target locals and holiday makers alike and increase their cocktail menus to include drinks that use Prosecco as a key ingredient.

Managing director of Frizzenti, George Workman, said the deal will open up a huge opportunity for the company in a part of the country where it currently has very little presence.

The deal includes the rights for outdoor events with bars hosted by the Cornish brewer including The Eden Sessions music events in June and July at the Eden Project, where St Austell will operate the outside bars including six Frizzenti taps.

The company is concurrently increasing its presence at outdoor events and at transport locations with pop-up and permanent Fizz Bars, which Frizzenti co-founder Daniel Spinath told M&C he plans to roll-out to 10-15 locations across the country.
