Euroboozer, an importer and supplier of speciality beers to the on trade, has started distributing regionally.

The group, which was founded by Martyn Railton in 2003, supplies c350 pubs and restaurants in London, and is now expanding its delivery to Bristol, the M4 corridor and the South.

It imports Stiegl, Rogue, Schresmer, Ska Brewing, Palm, Rodenbach and Boon, while distributing beers from domestic brewers such as Magic Rock, Northern Monk. Cloudwatwer, Burning Sky, Thornbride and Harviestoun.

Railton said: “We’ve been at the forefront of speciality and craft beer and really helped build that, so when it really took a foothold in 2012 we were well placed to capitalise on the hard work we’d put in trying to get people to realise there was more to beer than just lager and ale.”

Railto predicted lager would be the next growth beer category following the success of IPA styles in recent years.

He said: “A couple of years ago we identified that lager would come back full circle. People were deriding the idea of drinking lager, but we knew all these small craft brewers would need to make beers that are drinkable, to fill their tank and have a high rate of sales. There’s only so many 7% IPAs you can drink in a night. Funnily If you go onto most craft breweries’ websites you will see there are all trying to make lager – and I say try, because they do find it very hard because there’s nowhere to hide with lager. That’s the next growth area for the next two years, craft brewed and dry hopped lager.”
