Spirit Group, the managed house division of Punch Taverns, has launched an adult area into its Wacky Warehouse concept. There are currently 73 Wacky areas across the Spirit estate aimed at children but the company has now introduced 20 adult-orientated areas, which will feature comfortable seating, plasma screens, daily newspapers and magazines. The adult areas will also serve fresh coffee, paninis and pastries. The company said it is rolling out the new concept across its estate at a rate of two per week. Jonathan Neech, Wacky Warehouse format manager, said: “We’ve attracted new customers and have also increased the length of visit so we see more mums and dads on weekdays. “They now see the Wacky Warehouse as somewhere they can come and chill out over a great cup of coffee and tasty snack with their friends while their youngsters play in a soft, safe environment.”
