Pret plans to have the Eat estate fully absorbed into the Pret brand by the Summer.

Originally Pret had believed it would take up to two years to convert the Eat outlets into Pret, or Veggie Pret stores.

However it has accelerated its plans and believes it can have all former Eat stores converted to Pret inside six months.

Pret acquired the 90-strong Eat chain in May last year. The price of the transaction was not revealed but MCA understands Pret paid in the region of £60m.

Yesterday, Pret was been crowned the ‘most admired brand’ by leading industry professionals for the eleventh consecutive year.

In MCA’s annual Top of Mind survey, interviewees praised Pret’s ability to move with the times, as well as its “consistent high level of service and food day to day.”
