Mowgli, the Indian street food restaurant concept backed by the Foresight Group, has further strengthened its openings pipeline, after securing its first site in Wales, in Cardiff.

The four-strong group, which will soon open in Oxford’s Westgate scheme, will open on the Welsh capital’s Church Street next spring.

It will follow up its opening in Oxford, with its second site in Manchester this autumn, whilst a site in Leeds Trinity will also open later this year.

The Nisha Katona-led group has taken unit at the University Green development in the city alongside Five Guys and Loungers. It already has a site in the city’s Corn Exchange scheme.

Mowgli said it was also identifying the right site and opportunity in London for its debut in the capital.

The company, which secured £3.45m of funding from private equity group Foresight Group last year, has also identified Sheffield, Bath, Bristol and Brighton as expansion targets.
