Hummus Bros, the London-based concept by Christian Mouysset and Ronen Givon, is undertaking a programme of refurbishments and rebranding coupled with launching a breakfast menu at its four sites in the capital, M&C Report has learnt.

Managing director Jon Hassall, formerly of Patisserie Valerie, told M&C Report there are plans for growth and the company will begin looking at new sites after the rebranding and menu changes are complete.

The transformation of the Cheapside and Exmouth Market branches has been completed and the Soho and Holborn sites are due to be finished in the next few weeks. The rebranding involves new corporate colours and logo as well as new furniture in the branches and staff uniforms.

On completion the new look for the stores will offer a new menu that includes breakfast and the opening hours have been changed to 7.30 – 21.00 to cater for breakfast trade.

Hassall told M&C Report that the changes have been introduced to “keep up with the times”. “Part of me coming over from Patisserie Valerie was to make such changes; it’s an exciting time for the company,” he added.

Breakfast will follow the lunchtime hummus format but with a selection of freshly prepared Greek yogurts and toppings that are made to order rather than being pre-packaged grab and go food.

As part of the refresh, Hummus Bros is boosting its coffee menu following an “extensive staff training programme” to provide high quality coffees to match its breakfast menu at each of its sites.

Hassall said the restaurants will now be more appealing throughout the day: “It will be a better place to get coffee now in the mornings and afternoons but still great for lunch.”

The company began offering delivery last month in partnership with Deliveroo, which also works with operators including Strada, GBK and Busaba Eathai in the capital.

Hummus Bros has also partnered with YoYo, a payment app, to offer payment with an exclusive breakfast deal and loyalty vouchers for users of the app.
