Fledgling Mexican concept Burrito Kitchen is to continue its expansion in the capital with an opening in Westminster.

MCA understands that the company, which returned the returned to the expansion trail before Christmas, has secured a unit at the Millbank Tower for an opening this spring.

The concept, which is the brainchild of Tim Stillwell, a former The Apprentice candidate, had retreated from new openings after closing its site within the former Tesco Express site in Villiers Street.

However, it opened in Uxbridge High Street in November and followed that with the opening of a unit at The Mall in Luton just before Christmas.

It is now exploring further expansion opportunities both through company-owned openings and securing franchisees.

Stillwell launched Burrito Kitchen in 2014 in the Merry Hill shopping centre food court in Brierley Hill, West Midlands.

He linked up with Tesco at the end of 2014 as part of the supermarket giants push into the eating-out sector, which included its purchase of Giraffe and Harris + Hoole.

Burrito Kitchen still operates a unit within the Tesco in Cheapside.
