Barworks site Wenlock & Essex has won the inaugural National Pizza Awards top spot.

Chef Luigi Forte won the grand final this week with Andy Briggs of The Stable, Poundbury, winning the Technical Award and Riccardo Ferretti of Rossopomodoro, Wandsworth, winning the Signature Award.

The other finalists included John Martin from Dough & Brew, Tom Mullin of Pizza Pilgrims, Daniele Boccardi of Zerodegrees, Daniel Jones of The Salisbury Arms, Jon Crwys-Williams of The Cornish Pizza Company, Kiante Campbell Gordon of Amici, Jack O’Dwyer of Suffolk Stonehouse, Kevin Richardson of Northern Imagination, Ubaldo Persichini of Rocket City Restaurant and Bar, Marita Holland of Nonna’s, Tomasz Zdankowski of Grand Union’s Trade Union, Andrea Serricchio of Zia Lucia, and Michele Civiera of Civerinos.
