Wye Valley Brewery, the Herefordshire brewer and pub operator, has announced a £5m expansion to its brewery “to keep up with growing demand”. It will see the installation a complete new brewhouse. The project is being delivered by the team behind the new Moorhouse’s brewery in Burnley, Lancashire: engineering firm Microdat and Watergate Construction. “We underwent a lengthy evaluation of various potential suppliers and it is extremely heartening that we have been able to find top quality companies in the UK to carry out our expansion – contrary to popular belief British manufacturing is still very much alive,” said head brewer Jimmy Swan. Last month the firm opened its fifth pub, the Pelican Inn at Gloucester.
