Punch Taverns is spending £250,000 turning the Boddington Arms in Blackburn into a Fayre & Square, the managed concept focusing on value food, writes Gurjit Degun.

The pub previous operated as a ‘Two For £10’. Punch is currently rolling out Fayre & Square across the UK, with more than 80 now operational.

The company said the Boddington Arms is going through a full renovation, which will include a new bar, new furnishings, new equipment such as TVs and a new décor. The pub is set to re-open on 25 June, and will create 14 new jobs.

General manager Kailey McColgan said: “We’re going to be delivering great food, great prices and great service all day, every day. I am sure we are going to wow our guests, old and new, with our exciting new menu featuring firecracker chicken, steak & Bombardier ale pie and a ‘square’ shaped burger.”
