A large group of tied tenants has threatened to boycott their pub companies by not paying rent or buying beer from them.
The group called Pub Revolution, which is thought to have around 350 members on Facebook, is calling for direct action against pub companies rather than waiting for the government to respond to the Business and Enterprise Committee’s inquiry into the beer tie.
It is understood that the group is planning to increase its membership to 1,000 tenants and to stage what it calls a “beercott”.
