Joule’s Brewery, the Shropshire brewer and pub operator, has been granted planning permission to extend the current brewery.

There will be additional storage space and a new car park. It forms part of a £1m expansion and is due to be completed by winter 2013.

Earlier this month company director Steve Nuttall told M&C Report’s sister title Publican’s Morning Advertiser that Joule’s aims to reach an estate of 50 pubs.

The company currently operates 30 pubs: 18 franchise-style brewery taps and 12 traditional tenancies and leases. It recently secured an additional £1m in funding from the Co-op Bank to add another five to six pubs in the next year and double the storage area at its brewery.
