Ei Group’s latest managed investment partnership is with the one of the architects of its Craft Union model.

Helen Standing worked with Ei Group to develop the wet-led, value pub offer from its inception in 2015. She was previously involved with Honeycombe Leisure.

She is now joining with colleague Elizabeth Davies to launch the Vixen Pubs joint venture with Ei Group. The model will be based around “great food and smart accommodation”. The first two sites, The New Inn Hotel in Clapham, near Settle, Lancaster, and the Wheatsheaf, Corbridge, Northumberland, will be opening shortly. Future sites will also be based in the North of England.

Standing said: “Having worked closely with Craft Union, I’m delighted to be partnering with Ei Group’s Managed Investments business. I look forward to opening our first two sites and growing Vixen Pubs in the North of England.”

Nathan Wall, operations director for Ei Managed Investments, said: “We’re thrilled to be working directly with Helen and Elizabeth, drawing on their experience from many successful years in the pub industry, where they have been instrumental in creating great pub businesses.”

Yesterday, Ei Group announced it was exiting its first Managed Investment partnership after selling its stake in Hunky Dory pubs back to Oakman Inns.

It currently works with 11 Managed Experts, including Rupert Clevely, with Hippo Inns, Karen Jones, with Frontier Pubs, and Nick Pring and Malcolm Heap, with Urban Pubs and Bars Two.
