The Luminar Group, the UK’s biggest nightclub operator, is spending £1m revamping Oceana in Brighton to its new Pryzm concept.

The nightclub is due to re-open on 9 May with three dance floors, including a new 600-person capacity ground floor dance arena and a VIP area, while the existing cocktail bar and disco room will remain but receive a makeover.

Luminar’s chief financial officer, Russell Margerrison, said: “When we acquired the Luminar business we knew that we had to invest in our clubs.  It is time to move on and bring our customers exciting, new state of the art clubs that literally have the wow factor.

“The Pryzm concept has certainly achieved that goal and we are delighted with the performance of all three clubs and are confident that Brighton will be just as big a hit.”

This development, which creating 30 new jobs, follows successful conversions of Luminar’s former Oceana clubs in Leeds, Bristol and Kingston to the Pryzm concept.
