The boss of a small Devon brewery bought a pub to sell his beers in less than 24 hours after it went on the market.

Paul Diamond, who co-founded the Branscombe Vale Brewery near Seaton, Devon, bought the Old Inn in Kilmington, near Axminster, Devon, from John and Di White after it was marketed through the Stonesmith Partnership.

Diamond and his wife Sue say they intend to promote local food at the pub, a 15th century building with two bars and a 30-cover restaurant. As well as Branscombe Vale beers, they intend to use only products produced in the West Country, such as Devon cheese, Lyme Bay fish and ciders.
