Simon Loftus, chairman of Adnams brewery, has retired after 11 years. An Adnams employee since 1968, he is credited with rejuvenating the Suffolk brewery, transforming its regional beers into national brands. He was also responsible for the establishment of an Adnams distribution centre in Reydon, Suffolk, the building of which he will continue to oversee in his retirement. He is will also devote his newfound free time working with Aldeburgh Music, which organises the Suffolk's Aldeburgh Festival and Snape Maltings Proms classical music events.
