Restaurant and hospitality businesses from across London and the South East will be taking a pledge tomorrow (9 October) to create new jobs for 16 to 24-year-olds.

The latest Big Hospitality Conversation, organised by the British Hospitality Association and the Restaurant Association, specifically targets caterers this time, inviting them to embrace a common approach to work placements, internships and apprenticeships.

Among the businesses attending will be Pizza Express, Blancs Brasseries, Brakes, Brunswick Group, Byron Hamburgers, Café Rouge, Carluccios, Cote Restaurant, Ed’s Easy Diner, Las Iguanas, MARC Restaurants, Metropolitan Restaurants, SSP, TGI Fridays, and Yo! Sushi.

In the past 12 months more than 1,200 industry representatives have attended Big Conversation events, pledging to create 30,000 new jobs between now and 2015. Further Big Hospitality events to galvanise emploment growth will be held across the UK throughout the remainder of 2013 and 2014.
