Bakery chain Le Pain Quotidien has appointed Steven Whibley as its new managing director.

Formerly of Gail’s Bakery and an original franchisee of LPQ UK, Whibley’s appointment comes as the brand reopens its 16 sites under new parent company BrunchCo UK.

Alongside its newly refurbished sites, the business has expanded its food to go, bakery and coffee offer and introduced a new online ordering platform to enhance its click and collect capabilities.

It is also is set to launch a series of at-home kits shortly.

“We worked hard while our doors were closed on reviewing what we can do better,” said Whibley. “We’ve looked to bring the right people around the table to create a quality all day offering.

Other new hires include Andrew Tottle, formerly of Ole & Steen, as head of food, and Faye Hance of Wagamama and Five Guys as head of people.
