The Builder’s Arms in Kensington has a new upstairs area – created to ease the strain on the main bar downstairs on busy nights – complete with wraparound leather banquette seating and its own bar.

The ground floor has been given a complete makeover, while new food and drink menus have been introduced.

At the Crown & Sceptre on Great Titchfield Street in Fitzrovia, refurbishment work has involved moving the bar. Quirky design touches include light fittings fashioned from old milk bottles, and vintage Radio Times posters on the walls (reflecting its media industry clientele).

M&B says the pub also has an improved range of draught beer and cask ales from around the world.
