Thirty one of the remaining 71 former Laurel Pub Company freehold pubs put up for sale last year that have yet to be sold are under offer, with deals agreed on six of them, M&C Report has learnt. Around 100 sites, spread across England, had been placed on the market through Fleurets and DTZ. A number had been acquired on a single-site basis or in small packages, including 12 Slug & Lettuces, which were bought by an unnamed buyer last July. The sites are leased to Stonegate Pub Company and were formerly operate as unbranded pubs or as Yates’s. They were offered as freehold investment opportunities after their owner companies - Pumpster, Yates Propco and S&L Propco - were placed in administration. M&C Report revealed last summer than the virtual freehold of a flagship Slug & Lettuce off London’s Leicester Square was sold to West End property investment company Shaftsbury for £4.5m; offers in excess of £3.5m were sought for the site.
