Chef and author Anissa Helou is to launch a new takeaway “hole-in-the-wall” concept based on the Egyptian street food dish of koshari in London’s Covent Garden called Koshari Street. Helou said that if the first site in St Martin’s Lane, which opens next month, is successful she and her Egyptian backers would look at opportunities to roll out the concept to further site in the UK and eventually internationally. The eight-cover site will offer a menu centred pots of koshari as well as seasonal salads, soups, desserts and fresh juices, with the average spend around £5. Davis Coffer Lyons acted on the deal.
