Cabana is joining Jamie Oliver’s Sugar Tax campaign and will introduce a 10p tax on sugary drinks.

Oliver officially launched his campaign in his Sugar Rush Channel 4 show last night.

The high-profile chef, who joined forces with lobbying group Sustain for the campaign, has already received backing from Leon and Abokado.

Co-founder Jamie Barber said “Childhood obesity is a very hot topic in our household and we are delighted to join forces with the other Jamie to do what we can to help combat the health issues that are caused by childrens’ diets. We are also looking at ways that we can better educate on our kids’ menus so that parents and children alike can make informed choices.”

A petition calling for the Government to introduce a Sugar Tax has so far attracted 65,000 signatures.
