Big Fang Collective aims to grow its Golf Fang estate to 12, with an eye on sites in London, Nottingham, Leeds, and Manchester in particular, CEO Natasha Waterfield tells MCA.

The Imbiba-backed experiential group currently operates its crazy golf concept in Liverpool, Birmingham, Newcastle, Glasgow, and Sheffield, and is also exploring a pipeline overseas.

It will launch a new concept at the end of the summer, with details under wraps for now.

There will also be further expansion within cities where the brand already has a presence.

“The Big Fang Collective has its own in-house production team of designers, creatives, joiners and much more,” Waterfield says. “Our plan is to enlist this talented team to help us turn unused spaces into new and exciting concepts for the public to enjoy.

“We are only a few months away from launching a brand-new concept in Liverpool next to Box Park and our existing Golf Fang venue.

“We have a list of key cities we want to open in, which would see us expand to around 12 sites.”

Trading is going “from strength to strength” at the brand’s recently opened Cardiff venue, with Birmingham and Glasgow “solid and consistent” in terms of performance.

Golf Fang is also looking to evolve its offer with additional experience-led credentials, including cocktails, events, and an expanded food offer.

It also operates tiki bar concept Birdies – currently in Liverpool and Birmingham – with Newcastle, Sheffield, and Glasgow to open in the coming months.

“Cardiff was our first venue that wasn’t built inside a warehouse, in fact, it was a city centre casino that we converted,” Waterfield adds. “We were nervous that without the sheer ceiling, height, and expansive nature of a warehouse we may not deliver the same wow impact for a customer, but it turns out we didn’t need to worry.

“We have proven to ourselves that we can take our concept and adapt and build to the same impact in any location. I can’t see us going any smaller than 12,000 sq ft for any future Golf Fang concepts.”
