Patisserie Holdings has confirmed its intention to appoint RSM UK Audit LLP as its new auditors, following press speculation.

RSM would replace Grant Thornton UK, once the necessary professional process have been completed, it said.

Grant Thornton, which has overseen Patisserie’s books since 2006, is currently under investigation by the soon-to-be disbanded Financial Reporting Council.

Earlier this month the Patisserie Holdings appointed Nick Perrin as interim chief financial officer, while the company searches for a permanent replacement for Chris Marsh.

Marsh stepped down in October following his arrest and the suspension of trading in the company’s shares, after the discovery of a £40m blackhole in its accounts.
