Deliveroo has launched a new subscription service for orders over £25, which will offer couples, families and groups unlimited free delivery for £3.49 per month.

It forms part of the food delivery company’s existing £11.95 ‘Plus’ subscription service, which gives subscribers free delivery on all orders over £10.

Deliveroo has claimed the new ‘Plus for a family’ service is the first of its kind to launch in the UK by an online food delivery company.

In addition to orders from restaurants, the subscription service also includes orders from its grocery partners. Deliveroo said it had seen a surge in demand from existing customers using the operator to have grocery items delivered to their doors during lockdown.

Carlo Mocci, chief business officer at Deliveroo UK and IRE said: “We know our customers are ordering more frequently and ordering larger baskets, whether that’s ordering dinner when they work late or getting groceries conveniently delivered to their front door.

“We’re really excited about introducing this new tier of Deliveroo’s Plus subscription service - so families, couples and groups households can benefit from unlimited free delivery from restaurants and grocery shops, at a cheaper price, and get access to even more exclusive deals than ever before.”

Deliveroo is also rolling out its ‘Signature’ order service, whereby customers can order delivery, pick-up and table service via restaurants’ own websites and apps.
