Maison Kayser, the Paris-based artisan bakery cafe concept, is set to make its debut in the UK later this year, MCA understands.

It is thought that the company, which was founded in 1996 by Eric Kayser, has lined up a site in London’s Baker Street for its debut here.

The company current operates c80 sites around the world, with the majority in France.

The group opened its first site in Japan in 2002 and now operates over 30 bakeries in the country.

The company says it opens bakeries that “reflect the neighbourhoods and cities in which they are located and where bread is baked fresh, on-site, all day long”.

It said: “In each country, our bakeries create products suited to the local culture and tastes. While the “Baguette Monge” remains one of our brand’s signature products, our breads vary by texture, colour, size and flavour. Yet each and every product embodies our expertise, our rigorous approach to sourcing ingredients, and our commitment to using natural leavening agents.”
