Lattes are the coffee of choice for 32% of Brits according to a survey by mobile coffee franchise Cafe2U, which found the drink was 14 points ahead of its closest rivals.

The survey of coffee drinkers found cappuccinos and flat whites were tied in second place - both with 18% of the respondents vote - and only 3% chose a white Americano.

The survey of 100 customers was undertaken by the coffee brand showed that 52% of customers visited the van between three and five times a week and 82% said they “preferred” the Cafe2U coffee blend to other espresso-based coffee products.

Managing director of Cafe2U, Tom Acland said: “We always suspected the Latte was people’s favourite espresso-based coffee drink, with many of our customers saying it helps ‘fill them up ‘till lunch time’ but to hear that 82% of our customers actively prefer our blend to our high-street rivals is music to our ears.”

The franchised business currently has 64 mobile coffee vans in the UK.
