Harrods is to open its first standalone café, in Henley, this October. It will be located in the former Spirited Wines premises at 22 Market Place.

H Café will offer both dine in and out options which will replicate the current food-to-go offering in its food halls and restaurants.

Customers will also be able to order from Harrods’ website and pick up purchases at the café.

According to the plans filed at South Oxfordshire District Council, the ground floor café will feature a counter and counter seating as well as general seating, with click and collect purchases to be picked up on the second floor. There are also plans for external seating opposite the café in the square.

The new café is being established during a period of large-scale investment in Harrods’ food and beverage division, said the Knightsbridge-based retailer.

This summer it re-opened its Dining Hall – the third instalment in a two-year transformation of its Food Halls.
