Bean & Wheat, Adam Handling’s coffee shop concept, is looking for a new home a year after opening its debut site, MCA understands.

The leasehold for the 835 sq ft site on 13 Artillery Passage, Spitalfields, is being marketed, with Handling understood to be looking for a replacement for the concept.

Bean & Wheat was founded as a waste-conscious café and bakery concept set to grow in tandem with Handling’s flagship concept The Frog, with Handling telling MCA it was to use the restaurants’ by-product.

It serves kilner jars of chicken liver parfait or pork terrine, salad made from non-traditional ingredients such as vegetable stalks and salmon belly, and presses of misshapen fruit and vegetables deemed not “pretty” enough to be served in the restaurant.
