Friska believes there is potential to grow to up to 50 sites across the UK over the next 10 years.

The four-strong group, which secured new funding last year, is gearing up to open its fifth site in Bristol’s Harbourside, before branching out to Birmingham and Manchester in the second half of this year.

It plans to open 10 new sites in Bristol, Birmingham and Manchester after raising £1.25m in funding through two angel investors and Santander.

“The long term plan is to come to London and open a cluster of stores there,” Holland told M&C last year.

The 10 new sites are the first step in a more ambitious national roll-out plan, and the pair are currently in discussions with an international franchise operator to take Friska to new developments in major leisure and transport hubs.

The healthy grab-and-go concept has proven a hit with Bristol’s young professionals and the company is forecast to hit over £2.5m in turnover coupled with ‘healthy’ profit margins this year.
