Abokado, the London-based healthy eating chain led by Mark Lilley, will celebrate opening its 25th site in the capital by giving away pots of frozen yoghurt for only 25p across all its stores tomorrow (12 August).

Lilley told M&C that the company, which is on track to have 30 sites operating by the end of next March, reported low single-digit growth over the last three months, with July in particular proving quite challenging

He said that June was “ok” in terms of trading, July “quite challenging” and August “strong when we exclude the impact of the tube strike”.

The company opened its latest site on Goswell Road in Islington.

Lilley said: “We’re very proud of what we’ve achieved over the past few years. To celebrate this milestone, we’ll be offering our wonderful customers a pot of our delicious, fat free frozen yoghurt for only 25p. With this opening it feels as if our baby has finally left its toddler stage and is now marching towards its teenage years. God help us all!”

Abokado’s frozen yoghurt has been voted the nation’s favourite in consumer tests. It is also one of the only 100%-yoghurt frozen yoghurts available in the UK.
