Social network Facebook has added a new feature, which allows users to purchase movie tickets and have food delivered.

“How can we make Facebook more useful in your everyday life?” Andrew Bosworth, Facebook’s head of advertising technology and local teams, told the Wall Street Journal. Facebook’s work in this arena would continue “over the course of the next months and years,” he added.

The company partnered with Delivery.com, a food-delivery startup operating in about 40 US cities, to provide any restaurant with the ability to take orders through its pages.

Facebook said that it would be open to working with other companies in the future.

The company also said that, although its new services will initially only be available in the US, this experiment could well expand into new territories.
