Wychwood has been celebrating the sales successes of two of its two key products. The Oxfordshire brewer has reported that, in the year to the end of May, cask sales of its Hobgoblin dark beer were up by 50%, representing a threefold increase. In addition, Hobgoblin’s bottled sales rose 31%. It is believed that the brand has benefited from a well-received marketing campaign as well as the public’s increasing taste for premium beer. The brewer’s Brakspear Bitter has also seen rising fortunes. Sales to on-trade outlets that were not part of the Brakspear estate rose by 20%.
