Utopian Brewing, the Steve Cox-chaired group, is to start production after agreeing a contract brewing partnership with Hop Stuff.

The group has a week left to run on its Crowdcube campaign, which is already over-funding, having raised £420,000 of an initial £350,000 taregt.

Managing director Richard Archer said: “Hop Stuff have been a great bunch to work with putting the plans together and a bonus of our collaboration is that their shiny new brewery is a bigger version of ours so we will benefit from the experience of brewing with their team on essentially the same kit.

“There is a good fit with Hop Stuff for us as they also strive to make craft beers accessible and appealing to everyone but most importantly for us they have a very strong focus on producing very high quality beers and so I am very confident that our early brews will be in very good hands. It will also be fabulous to share and learn from their experience of growing into a highly successful craft brewery and I am proud to be follow in their footsteps as another crowdcube funded craft brewery.

“We still have a few details to sort but currently plan to start production in September so that we will have Utopian lager available in October. We then plan follow on runs into the new year to ensure we have product available for the festive season as our own facility comes into action.”
