This year’s Oktoberfest has resulted in drunken revellers leaving behind everything from their wedding rings to their underwear. Other lost items included a glass eye, secret government papers, prosthetic limbs, false teeth – including one made of gold – and a mannequin. Among the more prosaic items left behind were hundreds of mobile phones, pairs of glasses and a wheel chair. The Lost and Found office for the Munich festival said they were glad the festival ended when it did or: "we would not have had any more room if the festival had gone on any longer." The only details officials would give on the top-secret papers is that they relate to reform of legal laws in Bavaria. Those who attended the beer festival this year did manage to remember to look after themselves though, with this year’s festival being trouble free. One reveller was lucky to escape a serious incident when he was hit by a train while wandering into an underground tunnel looking for a toilet.
