Richard Reed, one of the three founders of the ethically-minded Innocent drinks company which introduced smoothies to the UK, is the subject of a major interview in The Daily Telegraph. He claims Innocent has a more than 70% share of the £169m UK smoothie market but admits the company is now under pressure from Pepsi, accusing the drinks giant of offering supermarkets “hundreds of thousands of pounds” to delist Innocent products. Reed believes his company is well placed to weather the economic downturn, but refuses to rule out price cuts. He is also looking at smaller pack sizes and is excited about the company’s entrance into the orange juice market this week. The Daily Telegraph 02/08//08 page 34 (BusinessNews)
