Turtle Bay, the Piper-backed Caribbean chain, has appointed Jon Temple, formerly of Pret A Manger as it new finance director, M&C understands.

Temple joins the 26-strong group after spending five years at Pret, most recently as its UK finance director. Prior to joining Pret he spent over 10 years at BT.

He joins Turtle Bay as it gears up to open a further 12 sites this year, with sites in Norwich, Staines, Chelmsford and Solihull all set to come on line later this year.

The company, which reported that turnover climb from £9.9m to £26m in the year to 1 March 2015, has also lined up openings in Exeter, Newcastle, Dalston Square and Liverpool.

The company, which saw operating profit increase from £21m to £4.6m, said that since the end of the year it had secured additional funding from Santander to support its plans for 2016 and beyond.
