The Restaurant Group has strengthened the pipeline for its fledgling Firejacks brand, MCA understands.
MCA revealed last month that TRG was eyeing the Chester branch of its Coast to Coast brand for the Firejacks format, which is focussed on burgers and steaks.
It is understood that the Basildon, Stevenage and Solihull Coast to Coasts have also been lined up for conversion.
In March, TRG said it was planning at least three conversions between the two formats.
However, chief executive Andy McCue told MCA at the time that this did not necessarily spell the end for the currently 18-strong Coast to Coast.
On Firejacks he said: “We’ll continue to tweak the concept as we learn but we are happy with the early signs. It’s a compelling proposition at a good price point. It’s got atmosphere and theatre and nice brand touches like the sauce station. It’s a modern environment and ticks a lot of boxes.”
The first Firejacks, which has the tagline – Meat, Fire, Friends – opened in Northampton last year.
