The Cat’s Pyjamas, the company behind the Leeds-based, Indian kitchen and craft beer concept of the same name, has been placed into administration, MCA understands.

Begbies Traynor is believed to have been appointed as administrators to the five-strong group, which is the brainchild of Alison White.

The company recently opened three new sites in Sheffield, Harrogate and Wakefield to add to its existing sites in Leeds and York.

The first Cat’s Pyjamas site opened in Headingly at the end of 2015.

At the time, White said: “Indian food in Yorkshire has long been part of the culture. We wanted to add a modern twist to it by creating fresh, delicious street food.”

The company had recently indicated it was looking at opportunities in major towns and cities between Nottingham and Newcastle.

All of the five sites remain open and trading.
