Tea42, the Manchester-based gluten-free specialty café, will open its second site in the city next month.

MCR42 will operate over two floors in the Chorlton Street site formerly occupied by Mongolian Grill with a fine dining restaurant upstairs and lounge downstairs

The site will operate throughout the day with “gourmet dishes for breakfast, lunch and dinner, as well as cakes, snacks, cocktails and wine every day of the week”.

Co-founder Will Hannah said: “MCR42 is an extension of Tea 42. In that respect, what we’re retaining is an extremely high quality of delicious and creative dishes, coupled with a stunning backdrop that is still welcoming and relaxed. But we’re also putting a little twist on it. We will continue to offer a large gluten free and vegetarian menu.

“We are absolutely thrilled to be moving into the area - a cultural hub rich with entertainment, music and heritage. With that in mind, and staying true to that spirit, we’ve got a few surprises up our sleeves. This will include a full entertainment programme that we know our guests will love. We love it and we know you will too.”
