Taco Bell has opened its 18th site in the UK, in Woking with more launches in the pipeline.

The brand has taken a unit in the town’s Chertsey Road. MCA understands it also has an opening lined up in York .

MCA reported earlier this year that the Yum! Brands-owned chain is to make its debut in Scotland, with an opening in Glasgow’s city centre.

The quick service restaurant brand launched its first high street restaurant format in the UK in Sheffield at the end of 2014 and has ambitions to open many more sites across the country.

Last year, Nick Dawson, general manager at Taco Bell Europe, division told MCA that the group believes there is potential to open “hundreds” of restaurants in the UK.

Having developed its brand and built up a supply chain the company is now looking to accelerate the pace of openings with plans to open five to 10 sites every year as it scales up.
