The Nusr-Et steakhouse in London’s Knightsbridge has reported it is making efforts to cut down on costs due to soaring energy bills.

The company, founded by Nusret Gokce – also known as Turkish chef and social media personality Salt Bae – charges nearly £700 for its most expensive steak.

The restaurant at the Park Tower hotel is known for expensive dishes including the £680 wagyu striploin and £630 tomahawk steak.

In its latest accounts filed at Companies House, the business reported profit before tax rose 44% to £3.3m in 2022, while sales jumped 66% to £13.6m.

The accounts further report the group is seeking to improve energy efficiency at an operational level by turning off the lights and central heating after closing, or during peak hours when heating demand is lower.

Its renovation of the London venue included LED lights and “energy-saving insulation.”

Nusr-Et launched in 2021 and later removed signature items off its menu, such as the £1,450 steak topped with gold flakes, in the wake of the cost of living crisis.

It has attracted a celebrity following, with fans reportedly including David Beckham and Leonardo DiCaprio.
