A Qatari restaurant concept called Apple Butter is looking to open five sites in London, with the first secured in Covent Garden for a launch later this year.

The business, which was established in Qatar’s capital Doha, is based around homemade desserts with a twist and speciality coffee, alongside gourmet salads and sandwiches.

The 1,882 sq. ft. site on Monmouth Street in Seven Dials – which was formerly occupied by Balans Soho Society, which will be given an art deco-inspired design.

Restaurant Property advised parent company the Adara Group on the purchase of the Covent Garden unit.

Commenting on the deal, David Rawlinson, founding director at Restaurant Property, said: “Acting as sole agent, we are very proud to have secured this prime Covent Garden site for our client, Apple Butter, from Doha in Qatar. This is the first of five sites they will be opening.”
